CV Arts 2016 Membership – President’s Letter

Greetings to All

My name is Lisa Adams and I have spent the last year in the role of vice-president, honing my skills to become the new president of CV Arts by utilizing the vast knowledge of the Past-President Chris Evans. Chris has devoted over 10 years of his time towards the continued success of CV Arts. I will do my utmost to uphold his high standards of commitment to an organization that I believe is the hub of the valley’s Arts and Culture scene.

The organization provides a variety of programs ranging from Cinefest films, Artist Gallery Shows, Children’s Art Shows and Workshops, an Artist-In-Resident Program, Performing Arts Series, Mountain Mosaic, Invermere Musicfest and other special events. Memberships provide an opportunity for our community to support CV Arts, and be part of a successful organization. Your support is very important to us.

Changes and New Initiatives

Dr. Tricia Atkins-Duffy will be taking over from Alec Fleming as the new committee leader for the Performing Arts Series. She has shown much enthusiasm in taking on this role starting with an incentive program for CV Arts member’s beginning in the 2016-2017 season. She will be attending the performers showcase in April scoping out fresh performers for the 2016/2017 season.

The Pynelogs Cafe will be extending their hours in July and August to 9pm on Fridays 11 to 4 on Sundays. Now guests can enjoy a delicious meal at the end or start of their Friday night Artwalk experience. The Cafe season will be from May 3rd to October 2nd this year. Come join us on the deck overlooking the beautiful Windermere Lake.

CV Arts will be launching in April the Six Ways of Giving fund-raising initiative.

The draw takes place at the Mountain Mosaic Festival of The Arts on July 1, 2015, at 3pm. Complimentary and youth memberships do not qualify, sorry.
  • Many thanks to Tinhorn Creek Wines, and Bob and Barb Shaunessy for making it possible for us to once again offer this wonderful prize as part of our Membership campaign!
  • Discounts for CV Arts members from many local merchants, check the Membership Application for details.

Thanks For Your Continued Support

Once again we are most appreciative of the Fee for Service Agreement with the District of Invermere, with $25,000 committed this year. This support helps greatly in CV Arts’ aim to grow our arts and culture scene.

CV Arts continues to work closely with DOI and RDEK representatives on championing a performance venue as part of the new Columbia Valley Activity Centre.  We ask for your ongoing support, particularly in approaching your local representative regarding the importance of this new facility.

Finally, we are extending our special donation appeal from our Pynelogs Centennial campaign.  If you enjoy the events and activities we provide in course of the year, please consider making a donation in addition to your membership fees to support our initiatives.  Our funding is derived from memberships, grants, sponsorships, special events, donations, facilities rental and ticket sales – you do make a difference in our efforts to continue to enhance the cultural environment of the Valley.

For those of you that have an investment portfolio, we have implemented a Stock Donation process that offers significant tax advantages. Please contact Jami at (250) 342.4423 for details.

I look forward to seeing you at a CV Arts event this year!  Our updated website ( makes it much easier to check out what’s happening so you don’t miss anything.  If you would like to receive reminders of upcoming events, please contact Jami (250) 342-4423 to be added to our email distribution list.

Yours in the Arts
