The Columbia Valley Community Foundation Announces the Establishment of the Columbia Valley Arts & Culture Fund
Invermere, BC – The Columbia Valley Community Foundation welcomed the establishment of a new endowment fund, the Columbia Valley Arts & Culture Fund.
The “Columbia Valley Arts & Culture Endowment Fund” is a designated fund established with the Community Foundation. The income generated from long-term growth of the capital of this fund will be disbursed annually to Columbia Valley Arts, a charity whose purpose is to foster the growth, awareness and appreciation of the arts in the Columbia Valley.
“The purpose of this fund is to keep the arts a part of our community’s vitality” said Lisa Adams, chair of the Columbia Valley Arts Council. “This fund allows for legacy donations that will ensure that arts and culture are forever supported in our community.”
The establishment of this endowment fund coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Columbia Valley. Formally registered in 1976 under the BC Societies Act, Columbia Valley Arts Council grew out of the combined efforts of local artists with representatives of the Museum, a Choir and supporters of the Kootenay Chamber Orchestra, to coordinate all such activities in the valley from Canal Flats to Spillimacheen.
“Columbia Valley Arts is the cultural heart of the valley. We may have beautiful mountains but our community would be nothing without arts and culture,” say Baiba and Pat Morrow in support of the fund.
The Columbia Valley Arts & Culture Fund is ready to accept donations. Gifts will be gratefully received, well managed and wisely used to sustain a strong, diverse and vibrant arts community in the entire Columbia Valley, from Spillimacheen to Canal Flats.
Together with its community, the Columbia Valley Community Foundation enables the unique and essential spirit that flourishes when people believe their community holds possibilities for everyone.
